Ibotta is what I like to call a reverse coupon (but is actually called a rebate). When you go to use a coupon you have a piece of paper with a dollar amount on it, and they take the amount listed off immediately prior to paying. When you use Ibotta they do it after instead. So, when you go to the store and buy something all you have to do is save your receipt, and once you are ready you log into Ibotta, take a picture of your receipt, then Ibotta reviews it (usually within 10 minutes), and then they GIVE YOU MONEY!!! You can immediately transfer that to a paypal account, or get a gift card every time you hit $20.00 (or save it like a savings account, that’s what I do).
So why does that make it any different than a coupon? Well, for one, you can use these in addition to a coupon. They don’t care how much you paid for it, what you paid for it with, or if you stacked a million coupons. All they care about is that you bought it, and have the receipt as proof. What this means is you can save a ton of money when you find something that is on sale, has a coupon, and has an Ibotta rebate (like the chocolate). It’s what I like to call the coupon trifecta.
